- Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technicians use specialized equipment and processes to monitor a patient's nervous system activity.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex EEG examinations in the laboratory, at the patients bedside, Intensive Care Units and operating room.
- Perform electroencephalographic examinations on patients.
- Maintain equipment in clean operating condition and perform proper maintenance.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

- They set up, perform and monitor EEG tests which record the electrical activity of a patient's brain over time.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited EEG program OR an Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care field
- Ability to push and maneuver EEG machine weighing 320 pounds and Evoked Potential machine weighing 420 pounds.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
