About the role

  • Provide high-quality clinical care to participants in clinical trials
  • Coordinate study start-up activities, including preparation of Research Ethics Board applications
  • Monitor participant safety, identify and report adverse events, and escalate clinical concerns to the Most Responsible Physician as appropriate

Responsibilities

  • The Toronto Western Hospital Clinical Research Unit is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator III (Research Nurse) to support a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Screen and recruit study participants, obtain informed consent, and support participant retention through the study
  • Maintain accurate and timely source documentation and case report forms
  • Liaise with investigators, sponsors, monitors, and interdisciplinary teams to support study conduct
  • Provide operational support for the TWH Centre for Clinical Research, including management of clinical supplies, equipment, and development of standard operating procedures
  • Flexibility to support a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across multiple therapeutic areas

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care
  • Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations and basic laboratory procedures an asset
  • Experience using Epic for clinical documentation and ordering is required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

  • Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in Neurology preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of clinical research experience preferred

Skills

  • Evidence of good physical assessment, psychosocial assessment and patient/family teaching skill
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Compensation

  • $84,779 - $105,968 per annum
