About the role
- This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing events and travel arrangements, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position will interact with individuals/entities outside the company when coordinating travel & events with those outside the University.
- It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodations.
- Develop and maintain event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Create and distribute event materials, such as agendas, invitations, and itineraries.
- The main purpose of this position is to support the academic and administrative work of the John W.
Requirements
- Proven experience in event planning and travel coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.
- Minimum of bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in related-field
- Use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
- Proof of a valid Virginia driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Skills
- Certification in Event Planning or Travel Coordination.
- Experience with international travel arrangements.
- Knowledge of current trends in event planning and travel management.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write in English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Listen first communication style to ensure that everyone is heard so the best decision can be reached
- Ability to show respect to their colleagues and to work in a collegial manner
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- Occasionally required to travel to local and campus locations.

- Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions.
- $44,000.00 - $50,000.00
