About the role

  • Creates and modifies detail, assembly, and installation drawings and related documentation using 2D and 3D CAD tools under general guidance while exercising independent judgment in design decisions.
  • - Generates complete documentation packages: detail/assembly/installation drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), material specifications, GD&T tolerances, finish requirements, and trim/fastener detail.

Responsibilities

  • Selects design solutions (materials, geometry, sequencing) and assesses trade-offs for manufacturability, cost, weight, quality, and schedule.
  • Participates in design reviews and provide input on improvements, feasibility, and risk; propose design alternatives when obstacles arise.
  • Manages work within project schedules and budget constraints; anticipate conflicts or delays; exercises independent judgment in prioritizing tasks.
  • Maintains professional development by working closely with lead engineers, staying current with CAD tools, drawing standards, design methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborates across teams and ensures compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Adaptability - Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.
  • Work Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Computer Aided Drafting/Design skills (AutoCAD/Inventor preferred).
  • Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards, e.g. ASME.
