About the role

  • The purpose of this position is to plan and direct activities concerning quality improvement, quality systems development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for fuel injector manufacturing processes, materials, and products.
  • Complete root cause analysis of internal production rejects and customer trouble reports.
  • To ensure all Quality investigations are thorough and complete, with true root cause analysis, and assure all major and minor change points are controlled and completed in customers' best interests.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production with Process Efficiency that includes COPQ: 20%
  • Support Customer Requests and Concerns: 20%
  • Support Production in Emergency Situations (equipment downtime): As needed

Requirements

  • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
  • Full motor skills are required.
  • As such, the employee is expected to exercise independent judgment and to work the time required to meet job responsibilities, which may include working in excess of 40 hours per week.

Nice to have

  • 4-year College Degree in Mechanical or other Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in injection molding, machining, automated and/or short cycle time assembly processes.

  • New Product and Line Startup Documentation Creation: 10%
  • Trouble Shooting and C/M Implementation: 15%
  • Audit Processes and Documentation: 15%
  • Prepare Presentation to all Levels of Management: 5%
  • Prepare Data Documentation of IPPAARs and M/P Change Points: 5%

  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment, and be highly motivated.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Provides strong leadership to subordinate personnel.
  • Easily interacts with various levels of associates.
  • Analyzes technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess the feasibility of projects.
  • Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility.
