About the role

Responsibilities

  • The Applications Developer II is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that support various business functions.
  • In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain software applications to support business functions, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
  • You will write clean, scalable, and efficient code while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Additionally, you will participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.
  • You will utilize version control systems like Git to manage the codebase and track changes effectively.
  • Furthermore, you will independently design and implement software solutions and perform debugging and testing to maintain high standards of functionality and performance.
  • We deliver mission-proven technologies to our customers that safeguard our nation, protect space-based assets and enable space exploration.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree).
  • Typically, 2+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in at least two programming languages and familiarity with development frameworks.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with designing and implementing software solutions independently.
  • Experience debugging and testing.
  • This role requires a strong understanding of software development principles and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • To conform to U.S. Government international trade regulations, applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.

Nice to have

  • Experience with SQL Server or other relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • MS Access database development and VBA programming experience.
  • Web application development experience.
  • Power BI report development and data visualization methods.
  • Experience with database ETL processes and data integration
  • Familiarity with engineering programming languages (Python, MATLAB, VBA).
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Skills

  • Staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies will ensure the software remains current and competitive.

Compensation

  • $89,016.00 - $122,418.00
  • Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
