About the role
- You will join Finastra's Product Legal team-an internal group of attorneys and compliance professionals responsible for anticipating, interpreting, and operationalizing regulatory change across Finastra software products.
- Your work will directly influence how compliant functionality is delivered to market, supporting product managers, engineers, and leadership primarily within Finastra's Lending Business Unit, and across the organization as needed.
- You will report to the Senior Director of Product Legal and will work at the intersection of regulatory compliance, product functionality, and risk management.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders - including product management, engineering, release management and others - throughout the software change management lifecycle to support ongoing product compliance.
- The team monitors evolving legal and regulatory requirements, translates those requirements into clear product guidance, and partners with product, engineering, and leadership teams to embed compliance into product design and delivery.
- Authoring and collaborating on legal and product requirements to drive compliance into Finastra software products.

Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to analyze regulatory requirements with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, while maintaining a strategic, risk‑based perspective.
- Proven ability communicating complex legal concepts clearly and practically to non-legal audiences, particularly product managers, engineers, and product leadership.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently when required.
Nice to have
- Proven legal experience, including researching, interpreting, and applying U.S. federal and state statutes and regulations related to U.S. financial institutions
- relevant global regulatory experience is a plus.
- Experience in banking, lending, or fintech is a plus.
