About the role

Axos Bank Target Range: $28.00/Hr. - $33.00/Hr.
Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Build, update, and interpret financial models including sensitivity cases, leverage metrics, and pro‑forma adjustments
Conduct sponsor analysis: track record, fund strategy, prior performance, and support tendencies
Perform industry and competitive research to assess sector risks, cyclicality, and key value drivers
Partner with internal groups such as Credit, Portfolio Management, Treasury, Loan Operations, and Legal to underwrite and close loans
The Senior Commercial Underwriting Analyst provides analytical and transactional support to the underwriting team in evaluating leveraged loan opportunities for corporate and private equity-backed borrowers.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong financial and analytical skills who want to build expertise in leveraged credit underwriting.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field
1-3+ years of experience in leveraged finance, commercial banking, investment banking, or related credit discipline
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (modeling, pivot tables, financial functions)
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
