Requirements

  • Ability to connect financial literacy concepts to students' lived experiences and future goals
  • Substitute teacher certification eligible required
  • Competitive hourly rates based on experience

Nice to have

  • Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
  • Teaching certification is a plus but not required

  • Position Overview
  • BRICK is seeking an engaging and mission-driven Part-Time Financial Literacy Teacher to work with middle school students one day per week as part of our Career Pathways Program.
  • This educator will help students develop practical financial skills while building confidence, critical thinking, and a vision for their future.
  • The ideal candidate believes all students deserve access to financial knowledge and economic opportunity and is passionate about making learning culturally relevant, interactive, and empowering.
  • Essential Functions
  • Facilitate engaging 60 minute financial literacy lessons for middle school students
  • Teach foundational concepts such as:
  • Budgeting and saving
  • Banking and credit basics
  • Entrepreneurship and investing
  • Smart spending and goal setting
  • Career pathways and economic mobility
  • Create a classroom culture grounded in respect, empathy, and student voice
  • Use hands-on activities, discussions, and project-based learning to make concepts accessible and meaningful
  • Build positive relationships with students and families
  • Support BRICK's commitment to holistic student development and culturally responsive teaching
  • Collaborate with school staff and program leaders as needed
  • Prepare lesson materials and track student participation
