About the role

  • This role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records, with a primary focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly journal entries, invoice preparation, and account reconciliations.
  • The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in accounting software, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized records of all payables transactions and vendor correspondence.
  • Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a general accounting or staff accountant role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar ERP system).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work from the Gainesville, FL office.

  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a valid U.S. passport.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification is considered an asset.

Nice to have

  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in a mid-sized organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation is preferred.
