About the role

  • We are looking for someone with experience managing technical training projects to join our dynamic and highly skilled instructional development team.
  • As curriculum manager, you will work directly with Ciena's hardware and software engineers to identify learning outcomes and work with course developers to produce learning products.
  • Conduct needs assessments and audience analysis to determine instructional objectives and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Create project plans including timelines and deliverables for training development projects.
  • Explore a variety of sources, obtain and interpret a range of engineering information including technical notes, drawings, design specifications, and related documents.
  • Review course materials and design documents from other team members, provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Identify, and build relationships with subject matter experts, design, PV technical staff, to develop training objectives, training collateral, and courseware.
  • Minimum 6-8 years work experience in technical training and/or technical content design and development.

Requirements

  • ability to work independent of direct supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with SAOS10, WaveRouter, 5130 and 8114.
  • Hands-On Experience with Networking and Networking concepts.
  • Experience with Ciena Technologies Packet optical, understanding of IP, Ethernet, Carrier Ethernet, DWDM, fiber optics, OTN, MPLS, network management systems, and network function virtualization is an asset.

Skills

  • Hands-on experience with SAOS 10, WaveRouter, 5130 and 8114.
  • Hands-on experience with PTS, T-Series L2, L3.
  • Hands-On Experience with Networking and Networking concepts is an asset.
  • Experience with Navigator is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Experience with Networking and Networking concepts including, routing and switching.
  • Demonstrated skills in creating original technical training and/or online content.
  • Strong work ethic; ability to work independent of direct supervision.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and capable of working both independently and in teams.
  • Ability to research, understand, and communicate complex technical topics.
  • High energy and accustomed to above average productivity.

Compensation

  • The annual pay range for this position is $103,800 - $165,800 CAD
