Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building new features, identifying areas for improvement in our lifesaving APIs and web applications, and improving developer experience.

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience
7+ years of professional software development experience
Experience mentoring other engineers
Experience leveraging AI and agentic coding tools for faster, higher-quality software development
Experience with database design and development
Experience working with high-availability, high-throughput services
Experience with external-facing APIs and/or third-party platform integrations
Experience leading engineering teams
Experience with JavaScript development using established JS frameworks
Experience in IoT, smart home, security monitoring, or safety-related industries

Willingness to test, learn, and improve in quick cycles
Passion for helping people
Strong sense of ownership, work ethic, and self-motivation
Exceptional problem solving/analytical skills
Use AI-powered coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to improve development experience, efficiency, and code quality
Be a collaborator across the whole company; work with product, customer success, and leadership to ensure good decisions are being made
