About the role
- The Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all site production activities, ensuring that daily operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual and company objectives.
- This position serves as the link between the Project Manager and field execution, ensuring that operational plans are translated into measurable results.
- This is a on-site role in Soda Springs, ID.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of production quantities, equipment hours, and labor utilization.
- Execute the survey plan and verify conformance to design grades and production limits.
- Lead site safety culture by modeling safe behavior and accountability at all times.
- Lead or participate in incident investigations, including 5-Why and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
- Lead and coordinate production through daily engagement with foremen and operators.
Requirements
- Lead operational readiness and shutdown/startup processes as required by project schedule.
- 8-12 years of mining or heavy civil construction experience, including at least 3 years in a Superintendent or equivalent leadership role.
- Strong understanding of open-pit production operations, material handling, and fleet management.
- Working knowledge of production planning, cost tracking, and project reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management and field reporting systems (e.g., HCSS HeavyJob, HCSS Safety, Trimble).
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations, workplace exam requirements, and incident investigation procedures.
