About the role

This role is within our Backend Platform team.
The team primarily uses Go, Scala, and PHP and has expertise in technologies such as Kafka, various AWS services, and some infrastructure-as-code tools.
Based out of British Columbia, you will report to the Senior Manager, Software Development, DevOps.

Responsibilities

Design and build software - tools, libraries, automation, services, and glue scripts
Lead by owning project milestones, epics or features
Develop processes and automation to eliminate repetitive tasks
Design and build our infrastructure platform
Identify and implement new platform features
Perform maintenance, upgrades, and migrations
Provide tools and best practices to support the entire software development lifecycle
Collaborate with others across the organization to solve problems and build better processes, systems, and software
works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needs

Experience in backend development and devops, ideally with experience in creating tools and services for other developers

Compensation

Canada Pay Range For This Role
$115,400 - $161,600 CAD

Your primary focus will be on developing services and tools for our product development teams as well as modernizing our existing platform.
Responsible for the reliability, security, and integrity of our large, cloud-based platform

Communicate by mentoring, writing documentation, participating in meetings, and sharing your work at demos
A degree in Computer Science or Engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in an SRE, DevOps or software engineering role and a track record of substantial contributions to software projects with high business impact
