About the role
- Job Purpose or Scope: Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe and timely operation of a public transit bus.
- Bus Driver must exercise prudent judgment during onboard vehicle operations and failures.
Requirements
- All required driver training and licensing to be completed within the first 90 days of employment.
Skills
- Must be fluent in the English language (speak, read, write).
- Not required but a plus to be fluent in Spanish language.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Requires sitting for long periods while operating bus.
- Ability to operate vehicle equipment.
- Effectively read a map or GPS.
- Must assist passengers in wheelchairs by securing wheelchair while on bus.
- Provide passengers with general information of routes and schedules.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Must have basic understanding of and sensitivity to the special service needs.
- Basic math skills.
