About the role
- Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is proud to bring trusted emergency-only vet care to Southwest Michigan with the opening of EVCC Kalamazoo-our fifth location and the second in the state of Michigan.
- Currently, EVCC Kalamazoo is open 24 hours from Thursdays at 7 AM through Tuesdays at 7 PM, including all holidays that occur during this timeframe.
- Our #1 goal is to expand these hours to provide quality care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ensuring your pet always has access to lifesaving treatment- weekend or not.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of hospital equipment, instruments, and laundry
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as trash removal, laundry, and restocking
Requirements
- Ability to safely and compassionately handle animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods
Nice to have
- Have 2+ years of veterinary experience (ER preferred but not required)

- Your Role as an Experienced Veterinary Assistant (Day)
- As a Veterinary Assistant at our Mishawaka location, you'll be a crucial part of our emergency team.
- You'll support veterinary technicians and veterinarians by assisting with patient care, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and ensuring the hospital is stocked and ready for every emergency.
- You'll interact with pets and clients directly, creating positive experiences even during stressful situations, and help ensure every shift runs smoothly.
