About the role

  • The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring production lines remain supplied with raw materials, tooling, and consumables while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver or pick up materials from local vendors using a company vehicle as needed.
  • Assist with shipping clerk and crate builder duties as backup support.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with Lean Manufacturing and 5S standards.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn Lean Manufacturing and 5S concepts.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, email, messaging, and ERP software.
  • Ability to use forklifts, hoists, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required for use of company vehicles).
  • This role plays a critical part in supporting production efficiency, meeting customer delivery commitments, and assisting with shipping and receiving functions when required.
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, and kneel.
  • Must be able to lift and move 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to work within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Safety-focused, with sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Successful completion of internal fork truck training and licensing.

  • Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years fork lift experience.

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate: $23.00/hour
