About the role

  • In this role you are responsible for shaping the SMART Factory roadmap, overseeing digital assessments across plants, and guiding the implementation of high-impact use cases that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
  • The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with operational leadership, program management skills, and a passion for modernizing manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT/OT digital maturity assessments across manufacturing sites.
  • Develop factory-level improvement plans and oversee prioritization of investments.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel ~25%
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, automation, IT-OT, digital transformation, or Industrial Engineering roles.
  • Strong knowledge of MES, SCADA, PLCs, IoT systems, automation equipment, and ERP/MES/PLM integration.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment.

Skills

  • Experience leading multi-site projects or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership and vendor management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication abilities
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence certification ( Green Belt/Black Belt ).
  • Experience leading SMART Factory, Industry 4.0, or digital manufacturing programs.
  • Expertise in IT-OT convergence and modern factory architecture.
  • Experiences with Global Lighthouse Digital Manufacturing and/ or National Association of Manufacturing (Digital Manufacturing Farmwork)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML, analytics, digital twins, predictive maintenance, or cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for OT environments.
  • Ability to define ROI, business cases, and performance improvement models.
  • Demonstrated experience enabling cultural and organizational change in manufacturing settings

Compensation

  • SC Johnson's total compensation packages are at or above industry levels.
