About the role

  • You will report directly to the General Counsel and work hand-in-hand with Verkada's executive leadership as a trusted legal advisor on a wide variety of corporate legal issues across the company.
  • We are committed to a thriving in-office culture, so we expect this role to be onsite in our office in San Mateo, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the legal roadmap for IPO and public company readiness.
  • Establish compliance frameworks, draft and manage future SEC reporting structures, and implement rigorous internal governance policies, including insider trading protocols.
  • Lead legal strategy and execution for all strategic corporate transactions while managing outside counsel to ensure seamless due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school or equivalent
  • 8+ years of dedicated corporate legal experience, combining both in-house and law firm experience (preferably with at least 4 years of in-house experience at a fast growing tech company)
  • A proven track record of independently leading complex corporate transactions.
  • Excellent legal and business judgment with the ability to provide practical, concise advice
