About the role

  • This position will serve as the Camp Nurse/Health Coordinator for DPF 4-H Camp, a residential summer camp owned and operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County, located in Riverhead, New York.
  • POSITION DETAILS: This is an exempt, full-time position, 100% FTE.
  • The salary will be $10,000 to $13,000 commensurate with experience.

  • This position accepts and performs all position duties outlined in this position description, and performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned and deemed appropriate by the DPF 4-H Camp Director and/or

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position.

Nice to have

  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with children and young adults in an outdoor/recreational environment.
  • /Essential Functions
  • Administrative Responsibilities- 95%
  • Conduct inventory of supplies and place orders for supplies when necessary, ensuring timely arrival of supplies.
  • Check and issue first aid kits, AED's and Epi Pens to assigned areas.
  • Complete accident/incident reports when needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate camp procedures, facilities and conditions.

Compensation

  • The salary will be $10,000 to $13,000 commensurate with experience.

Benefits

  • Team Leader. (NOTE: This position does not include cabin responsibilities but does include camper/staff supervision for ones staying in the health lodge.)
