About the role
- The Foreman for Substation Construction is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of substation construction projects across various locations nationwide.
- This role will ensure that construction activities are executed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations, including delegating tasks, overseeing work quality, and resolving conflicts.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation construction or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and construction processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and practices.
- Position Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with project management software and documentation.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role preferred.
- Preferred: Experience with project management software and documentation.
- Certifications in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or electrical safety are a plus.
Skills
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews engaged in substation construction and related projects.
- Ensure all construction work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project schedules to ensure that work is completed accurately and on time.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to monitor compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare daily reports on project progress, including labor hours, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
- Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in safe and operational condition.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of new construction personnel as needed.
