About the role

  • The Foreman for Substation Construction is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of substation construction projects across various locations nationwide.
  • This role will ensure that construction activities are executed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily site operations, including delegating tasks, overseeing work quality, and resolving conflicts.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation construction or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, high-voltage equipment, and construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and practices.
  • Position Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with project management software and documentation.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience with project management software and documentation.
  • Certifications in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or electrical safety are a plus.

Skills

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction crews engaged in substation construction and related projects.
  • Ensure all construction work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project schedules to ensure that work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to monitor compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare daily reports on project progress, including labor hours, materials used, and any issues encountered.
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, safety practices, and equipment use.
  • Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in safe and operational condition.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new construction personnel as needed.
