About the role
- Supervise recovery area, setting up prior to session and cleaning up at completion, as well as assisting with set-up and monitoring of all aspects of abortion services as needed.
- Transfer non-narcotic and narcotic medications in accordance with PPDE policy and procedures.
- Check all recovery area equipment and emergency supplies, prior to session, to assure they are available and in working order.
Responsibilities

- Provide emotional support and answer questions.
- Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility staff.
- Maintain centralized follow up tasks per PPDE Standards and Guidelines for all patients.
Requirements

- Current ACLS required
- Prefer minimum of one year experience in recovery room, labor and delivery, emergency room and/or critical care
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in various formats required.
- Ability to multi-task and to work effectively under pressure due to conflicting demands is required.

- Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Delaware license or a participating compact state as a RN, or advanced practice registered nurse with prescriptive privileges
- Ability to work in a cost effective, efficient, flexible and customer services-oriented manner
- Reasoning Ability
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in various formats required. Ability to multi-task and to work effectively under pressure due to conflicting demands is required. Must be flexible, highly organized, creative and detail-oriented with the ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Language Skills
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, listening and interpersonal relationship communication skills. Must be able to communicate clearly and interact comfortably with a diverse group of clients, staff and volunteers in a non-judgmental, professional and sensitive manner.

- Review patient charts and communicate with the provider abnormal results to develop plan of care, document interventions/procedures in the patient's electronic medical record at time of service.
- Maintains a complete record of the patient's general condition including occurrence of complications and provides education and emotional support to each patient.
