About the role

  • Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a Logistics Technician at the SRO facility located in Orange, TX.
  • Dow is looking for top-caliber, technically capable Logistics Technicians who embrace change, adapt fast, make decisions quickly, possess self-confidence and are lifelong learners.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products
  • Performs tasks assigned to operations as per a standard task list including field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc
  • Performs crisis response activities including but not limited to immediate response duties
  • Maintain accurate logs, records, reports and inspection checklists
  • Safely operate, monitor, and adjust plant equipment and control systems to maintain production and performance goals.
  • Diagnose process issues, resolve equipment or operational problems, and escalate concerns when needed to maintain reliability.
  • Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, train others, and communicate effectively to support safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required and one of the following:
  • Participate in site Emergency Response Team, if required
  • Complete all duties as assigned with a high degree of dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
  • Execute EHS Standards and Operating Disciplines with a high degree of ownership and excellence

Nice to have

  • Associate degree or higher in Process Plant Technology or related field
  • Experience within a Chemical Manufacturing environment
  • Experience issuing safe work permits
  • Physical Demands
  • Must be willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Willing and able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required, including a respirator (must be able to pass a fit test)
  • Must be willing and able to perform frequent bending, reaching, pulling and lifting with or without an accommodation.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and work at heights with or without an accommodation.
