About the role
- The ideal candidate has a background in structural steel fabrication, understands welding codes, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Work Environment - Shop-floor manufacturing environment with limited office work. - Non-climate-controlled facility. - Frequent standing, walking, and inspecting materials throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Identify, document, and track inspected materials following established quality procedures.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and production documentation.
- Calibrate and maintain inspection equipment and welding-related quality tools.
- Support training efforts related to welding, fitting, inspection, and quality procedures.
- Maintain drawing control and other quality management documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Experience in quality control, inspection, or a related manufacturing position.
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, and related structural steel standards.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Experience using quality inspection tools, including:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
- Experience with nondestructive testing methods, including:
- Previous experience in a structural steel or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Required

- V-WAC gauges
- Tape measures
- Standard quality inspection equipment
- Commitment to producing quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Preferred
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
