Responsibilities
- Under the direction of Engineering Management, develop and analyze new or existing designs to meet product specifications while considering feasibility of operation, manufacturing and application.
- Under minimal supervision, plan, conceptualize, and create innovative designs for new products or updates to existing products with a focus on quality, cost, manufacturability, product performance and agency compliance.
- Perform testing and validation of new designs or updates to existing products.
- Clearly document results and recommendations for product & process improvement.
- Coordinate pilot builds for testing and customer field trials throughout the validation process.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
- Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering and cross functional teams to execute project deliverables, and work with suppliers and contractors.
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
- 2 years of experience working in engineering
- Understanding of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles and statistics to solve problems.
- Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both verbal and written formats.
- Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
