About the role
- Process, analyze, and interpret next generation sequencing (NGS) data to address key scientific questions in cancer genomics and extract insights related to tumor progression and response to therapy.
- Analyze and integrate mutational and gene expression data across multiple patient samples and assays to characterize biomarkers of response to oncology treatments including theranostics.
- Prepare scientific reports and summaries for internal use and external publication.
Responsibilities
- Develop, pilot, and implement bioinformatics pipelines for analysis of RNA-Seq data from our novel whole-transcriptome clinical test, MSK-TARGET.
- Collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, and investigators to support multidisciplinary research projects.
- Develop, document, and maintain well ‑ annotated, reproducible code following best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related discipline
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, R, or equivalent
Nice to have
- Experience in cancer genomics research
- Familiarity with DNA and RNA sequencing analysis
- Understanding of workflow management systems such as Nextflow

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within collaborative teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to reproducible, high ‑ quality scientific work

Compensation
- $102,800.00 - $164,500.00

Our lab brings together experimental and computational scientists to characterize genetic mutations in human tumors, with the goal of identifying biomarkers of cancer progression and therapeutic response. Leveraging massively parallel next ‑ generation DNA and RNA sequencing, we develop and apply cutting ‑ edge methods to profile patient ‑ derived tumor tissue and circulating tumor DNA.
