About the role

  • The Plant Controller is responsible for financial management, cost accounting, and overall accounting activities supporting manufacturing plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cost accounting and inventory processes, including standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Oversee general accounting activities such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and support for audits and internal controls.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities for assigned manufacturing sites.
  • Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to improve performance, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • This role ensures compliance with accounting standards and internal controls while providing financial insight to drive operational performance and decision-making.
  • The position acts as a key business partner to plant leadership, translating financial data into actionable recommendations that support efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, general accounting, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards and internal control frameworks (e.g., US GAAP, SOX).
  • Experience using ERP systems for financial and operational reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making within a plant environment.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (S/4HANA preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations with strong business partnership skills.
