Responsibilities
- Lead a team of workers in operations and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, including but not limited to mains, lift stations, booster stations.
- Flushes hydrants, maintenance, exercises valves, and perform pressure tests of fire hydrants.
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules and assure compliance with the schedule and record keeping.
- Develops estimates for the repairs and maintenance.
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform all duties as assigned by management.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Requirements
- This position requires a thorough knowledge of water and wastewater systems and the ability to oversee the work of a team.
- Availability for standby duty and the ability to be "on-call," working evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Response to emergency events and alarm call-outs required as scheduled and when required.
- Accrued based on years of experience and calculated on hours worked
- Ensure team completes daily required operational site inspections.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and wastewater maintenance and repair
- Applicants will possess proficiency with computers, including an ability to work with SCADA, Microsoft Word, Excel and maintenance management programs.
- Applicant must be able to understand and follow compliance standards.
Nice to have
- Water and wastewater certifications for Forida (such as a minimum Class DSI or Class C certification) are highly preferred.
