About the role
- You will serve as a Security Officer with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
- Salary: $143,913 (Step 01) to $187,093 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
- From thereon, the individual may be subject to random drug testing.
Requirements
- If selected, you will be required to provide proof of a valid State license & a copy of your driving record.
- Prior to appointment, the selectee will be required to take and pass, at Federal expense, a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use.
- All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement - 08/03/2026 - unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
- To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
- experience consulting with senior officials on the impact and application of new and existing legislation and policies.
- Requirements Continued Driver's License/Driving Record - You will be required to operate a government-owned or -leased vehicle in the performance of your official duties.
