About the role

You will serve as a Security Officer with U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
Salary: $143,913 (Step 01) to $187,093 (Step 10); NOTE: First time hires to the Federal Government are typically hired at the Step 01.
From thereon, the individual may be subject to random drug testing.

If selected, you will be required to provide proof of a valid State license & a copy of your driving record.
Prior to appointment, the selectee will be required to take and pass, at Federal expense, a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use.
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement - 08/03/2026 - unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
