About the role

Manufacturing Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Fabrication Mechanic located in Pascagoula, Mississippi through July 26th, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Experienced candidates have the potential for early completion of the training program (in as little as (15) fifteen months).

Perform basic structural fitting and welding techniques.
Perform basic pipe fitting and welding techniques.
Perform basic boiler maker duties including isolation, and repair of columns, drums, exchangers, furnaces, piping systems and structural support systems.
Perform basic rigging and crane signaling techniques for heavy lifting equipment and be able to operate stationary and mobile lifting equipment and devices.

2 years' of fabrication craft work experience
Successful candidates will be expected to progress through the Pascagoula Formal Maintenance Training Program within 3 years of their hire date to become competent and skilled in all aspects of the Fabrication craft.
Both written and hands on skill assessments are required to progress through the advanced training.
All candidates will be required to successfully demonstrate the ability to climb heights up to 200 feet and satisfy confined space entry testing.
Shift work and overtime are often required.

Successful completion of an Internship with the Chevron Pascagoula Refinery as a Fabrication Intern or formalized apprenticeship training program.
Relevant pipe welding or pipefitter trade school endorsed by the Central Gulf Industrial Alliance (CGIA), military or formalized training program graduate.
Minimum of 5 years industrial experience in pipe welding or pipe fitting.

45 minutes to complete the assessment in one sitting.
If you need to exit, your progress will be saved.
You will be immediately directed to the testing portal upon submittal of your application, at which point you will have 72 hours (about 3 days) to complete the online assessment.
Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for 180 days.
