Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Media Relations Managers through backing up the press line, managing media lists, and Communications inbox, as appropriate.
  • Proactive coordination with state legislative affairs team and with District and Section leadership to create editorial calendar of upcoming state events, legislative challenges and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Political Science, or related field.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated proficiency in media-facing materials.
  • Familiarity with the legislative process.
  • Proven responsiveness and skill balancing the needs of a variety of internal clients.
  • Must be able to work effectively and harmoniously with staff at all levels within the organization.

Compensation

  • $52,000 - $62,000 USD

Benefits

  • The position will support ACOG's Public Affairs efforts and advance legislative advocacy by leveraging the organization's District and Section leaders as spokespeople with both state-level and national media coverage.
