About the role
- Stepping into a senior leadership role within a $15B publicly traded alternative asset manager, this position offers direct engagement with complex technical accounting challenges in private equity and credit strategies.
- Reporting to the Principal of Financial Reporting & Accounting Policy, the successful candidate will influence accounting policies and disclosures across multifaceted fund structures and strategic transactions.
- This role demands a CPA with deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and ASC 810, ready to navigate high-stakes financial reporting in a sophisticated financial services setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead in-depth technical accounting evaluations for complex fund entities, including consolidation analyses under variable and voting interest entity frameworks in line with ASC 810.
- Drive the firm's adoption and compliance with emerging GAAP standards, SEC regulations, and interpretive guidance, including coordinating with auditors and educating internal teams.
Requirements
- CPA certification with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in public accounting, national office consultation, or industry technical accounting roles.
- Proven expertise in researching and resolving complex U.S. GAAP issues, particularly ASC 810 consolidation matters.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and defend accounting position papers and advise on disclosure implications for non-routine transactions.
- Experience partnering with senior leadership in a financial services or alternative asset management environment.
- Experience utilizing AI-enabled tools to streamline technical accounting research and analysis.
- Comfort working across multiple time zones and collaborating with global teams.
