About the role

  • The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial records and reporting for our property portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring proper coding and approval workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and sub-ledger accounts for assigned.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Track and manage budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for each property.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to monitor leasing activity, rent rolls, and occupancy reports in Yardi.
  • Use Excel to create detailed financial models, reports, and pivot tables for management review.
  • Speed Bay is building a national portfolio designed to deliver durable, long-term value through disciplined acquisitions, operational excellence, and technology-enabled performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Yardi 7S/8 Property Management Software is required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • At any time, employees may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization and participate in additional trainings.
  • This role requires advanced proficiency in Yardi and Excel, with a strong ability to work across teams to streamline processes and improve operational efficiencies.

  • Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data.
