Responsibilities

  • Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace.
  • Review early-stage product designs against standards to identify non-compliance risks ensuring all critical electrical components are already recognized/listed.
  • Lead facilities and suppliers through unannounced audits by inspectors.
  • Act as the gatekeeper for design changes.
  • Provide technical support to these other groups.
  • Deep understanding of material restrictions for wetted parts, including elastomeric compounds, plastics, and metallic alloys meeting lead-free and potable water standards.

Requirements

  • Proven track record securing and maintaining Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and plumbing standard compliance (e.g., ASME A112.18.1/CSA B125.1) for water-handling components and assemblies.
  • Determine the exact standards required for the target product and market that supports product safety and legal requirements..
  • Educate the NPD team on why certain materials or design elements are required, preventing costly redesigns late in the product launch cycle.

  • Preferred skills and experiences Demonstrated success serving as the primary technical point of contact for external testing agencies, auditing bodies, and certification authorities.
