About the role

A Heavy Equipment Technician for a mining company is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of large machinery used in mining operations.
This includes equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and loaders.
Given the fast-paced environment of mining sites, the role requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.

Maintenance and Repair: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on mining equipment, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently.

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics or a related field is recommended.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with heavy machinery, ideally in a mining, construction, or industrial setting is preferred.
Conduct inspections to assess the condition of machinery and identify potential problems before they cause breakdowns.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to test systems and identify issues with engine performance, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
