About the role
- Job Description Please note that due to the nature of the role, this is a hybrid role, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
- The role oversees multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for mechanical, electrical, fluidics, motion control, and systems engineering.
- Additional Details This job has a full time weekly schedule.
Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of Agilent's automation hardware platforms, including liquid handling, sample preparation, plate handling, and integrated automation workcells.
- Partner with Product Management to translate customer workflow requirements into differentiated hardware solutions.
- Partner with Services organization to ensure serviceability of our solutions.
- Lead end-to-end hardware development programs from concept through commercialization.
- Drive execution of new platform developments, platform modernization efforts, and product enhancements.
- Establish engineering best practices for design reviews, risk management, and product verification.
- Manage technical tradeoff decisions and portfolio prioritization.
- Build and lead a high-performing global engineering organization.
- Develop technical talent and succession pipelines.
- Drive collaboration across R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercial organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Bioengineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in hardware product development.
- 3+ years leading engineering organizations and multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven experience delivering complex automation systems from concept to commercialization.
- Strong understanding of product development processes and engineering governance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead global, cross-functional programs.
Nice to have
- Experience with laboratory automation systems, robotics, liquid handling, or analytical instrumentation.
- Knowledge of motion control, robotics, sensors, fluidics, and automation architectures.
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering and simulation tools.
- Familiarity with (incremental) software-enabled hardware platforms and connected laboratory systems.
- Knowledge of AI-enabled automation and autonomous laboratory technologies.

Compensation
- The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $180,000.00 - $281,250.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits.
