About the role

  • The Research Associate, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Genomics will conduct laboratory functions under general supervision of the Head of NGS and Genomics.
  • She/He will work as part of a team in the operation of the Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Genomics laboratory to achieve departmental goals.
  • include hands-on preparation of NGS libraries, operation, and maintenance of NGS instrumentation including Single Cell, Next Generation, and Third Generation sequencing platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain detailed records of the work carried out (electronic lab notebook).

Skills

  • B.S./M.S. in Life Sciences with up to four years R+D laboratory experience.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good communication, collaboration, problem solving skills.
  • Reports to the Scientist IV. No direct reports.
  • Commute to lab every workday.
  • Research Lab with chemical and biological hazards present.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Use of computer required.
  • Must be able to work from home when road conditions do not permit travel to workplace.
  • Sitting, bending, reaching, and walking.

Compensation

  • The salary range is $71,600.00 to $89,500.00.
