- The Division of Institutions manages the daily operations of all state-operated prison facilities across North Carolina.
Requirements
- Required Adverse Weather Reporting:
- MUST be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

- $37,377 - $65,408 Salary Grade: NC07
- The salary grade for this position is NC07.

- Wilkes Correctional Center is a minimum custody male facility
- Reporting to the Correctional Housing Unit Manager II, this position provides supervision for subordinate officers regarding their assigned tasks with male inmates in a Minimum/Medium/Close custody state correctional facility.
- Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 1- Conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post
- 2- Supervising and assigning subordinate officers to a particular area or post.
- 3- Completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty rosters, leave schedules, performance evaluations, and administrative forms.

- 4- Accounting for persons and funds to ensure that all assigned equipment is operationally ready.
- 5- Responsible for subordinate officers' activities relating to the custody and welfare of offenders.
- 6- Working rotating and various duty assignments within the defined level of work.
