About the role

  • TYLin is seeking a Stormwater Engineering Desinger to join the Mid-Atlantic team.
  • Work may include the review of plans with permit applications submitted by engineers to the City of Richmond.
  • Actively engage in business development and growth opportunities for new clients and projects/programs under the Water Sector, Infrastructure Equity Practice, and Water Advisory Practice.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Engineering design and consulting oversight for complex assignments, including conditions assessments, project site visits, report preparation, hydraulic calculations, utility plans, technical specifications, cost estimating.
  • Preparation of design and construction documents for wastewater and water facilities, climate resiliency projects, and conveyance/treatment projects.
  • Active leadership in assignments as a member of a team, including peer mentorship of design and consulting staff.
  • Support management of grant writing and funding procurement for infrastructure and community projects.

  • The Engineering Designer will support the design and implementation of innovative Stormwater, and climate resiliency infrastructure projects for the City of Richmond and other localities in Virginia.
  • The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Program Manager to manage the planning, design, and construction of these projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing designs and construction contract documents for complex infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • VA DEQ Plan Reviewer certification required or the ability to obtain one within three months.

Nice to have

  • minimum of a B.S. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.
