Responsibilities

  • Developing strategies to mitigate identified risks and enhance security measures.
  • Support emergency response efforts during actual incidents, working with internal and external stakeholders, including first responders, government agencies, and other relevant organizations.
  • Support implementation of security measures, including access control, surveillance systems, and security personnel, to protect personnel and assets.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Emergency Management, Security, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience, or a degree in a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of emergency management and security programs, procedures, processes, and applicable legislation and standards, including CSA Z246.1 and Z246.2.
  • Experience conducting threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
  • Occasional after-hours support for emergency and incident response activities may be required.

  • Assist in the management of security projects as required.
  • equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to proactively anticipate challenges, prioritize urgent issues, and manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Professional designations such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional in Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), and/or Physical Security Professional (PSP) are considered assets.
  • Work Environment
  • Based in our head office in Calgary, with travel to field locations as required.
