About the role
- include, but are not limited to, patient assessment and triage, excellent communication and customer service skills, counseling and educating patients related to pulmonary and sleep conditions and disease processes.
- The Pulmonary RN prepares patient charts with necessary medical information from referring physicians for office appointments.
- The Pulmonary RN rooms pulmonary/sleep clinic patients, obtains vital signs and reports patient concerns or pertinent observations to provider.
Responsibilities
- Performs assessment/data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on physiological and cognitive status.
- Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent manner, while promoting the continuum of care.
- Documents in patient and department records in a timely, accurate and concise manner according to department standards. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Compiles tests and examination results.
- Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established standards of care. Practices effective problem identification and resolution as a method of sound decision making.

Requirements

Nice to have
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Experience in a clinic setting.
- Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and departmental functioning.
- Strives to manage situations in a manner, which minimizes risk to the patient and the institution. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. (Required proficiency)
Skills
- Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to rights of patient/significant other, as identified within the institution. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution. (Required proficiency)
- Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills. (Required proficiency)
- Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal and written methods. (Required proficiency)
- Registered Nurse
- KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required
- Basic Life Support
Compensation
- Abide by Stormont Vail's Remote Worker Policy and will review and acknowledge the Remote Work Agreement annually.
