  • What you'll be doing As Senior Commodity Derivatives Sales & Originator, you are expected to generate sustainable flow volume with an appropriate risk and return profile for the Shell Trading and Supply Commodity Derivatives Trading team.
  • In addition, the role carries a clear business development mandate, focused on expanding the derivatives franchise across priority counterparties, sectors and geographies.

Responsibilities

  • Success in the role requires strong market expertise and relationship management skills to develop compelling value propositions for counterparties, while ensuring disciplined and efficient use of Shell's credit and capital resources.
  • Build strong and productive relationships with internal and external counterparties, leveraging established networks to originate and develop new business opportunities
  • Collaborate actively across the broader deal ecosystem, including Traders, Business Development teams, M&A, Finance, Legal, Technical Accounting, Contracts, Credit, Tax and Back Office functions
  • Maintain a solid working knowledge of Dodd‑Frank regulations and ensure compliant execution of derivative activities
  • Partner closely with control functions including Legal, Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Audit and Finance to ensure robust governance and control frameworks

Requirements

  • The candidate must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis
  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required
  • Minimum of 5 years' professional experience in derivatives sales and business development, with a strong track record of external negotiation in client- facing roles and well- established client relationships
  • Strong ability to originate and scale portfolio‑level opportunities, moving from individual trades to broader, repeatable client solutions
  • Proven ability to work across organisational boundaries to align commercial, trading and risk objectives, and translate complexity into executable outcomes
  • Experience managing long sales cycles and complex negotiations involving multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally

  • What we offer
  • The base salary range for this position is $184,000 - $276,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.

  • Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
