Responsibilities
- Consists of Personal Support Workers (PSWs) who deliver a great customer service experience by demonstrating compassion and empathy towards our residents, family members and team.
- PSWs support and deliver on all personalized activities of daily living that meet our resident's needs.
- This includes ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support.
- PSWs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication
- shift and are able to quickly identify and communicate changes in resident care needs to our clinical leads.
Requirements
- Volunteer/working experience in a Senior Living setting is an asset, not required
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Personal Support Worker Certification from a certified educational facility OR internationally educated nurse
- Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
- Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
