About the role
- The Assistant Athletic Trainer reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.
- This position assists in all aspects of the Sports Medicine Department.
- This position will oversee the health and safety of student-athletes of assigned teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain overall Sports Medicine Department including injury care and prevention, injury evaluation and management, educating of student-athletes and coaches.
- Establish and maintain good communication with team physicians (Orthopedic and Sports Medicine).
- Maintain confidentiality of student-athlete injuries and illnesses.
- Demonstrates values-based leadership by modeling CADRE values, building trust through self-awareness and emotional intelligence, seeking feedback, and navigating conflict productively.
- Aligns individual work with team and departmental goals by contributing to shared priorities, seeking clarity, and adapting to change in support of the 2030 Strategic Plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in A thletic T raining
- Two years of experience in the athletic training profession.
- At least one reference provided must be a supervisor (either current or former).
- Official transcripts will be required of the candidate selected for hire.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Nice to have
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- Two years of experience working in Division I or Division II collegiate athletics.
- Knowledge of SportsWare injury tracking system.
- Experience maintaining files and documentation.
- Experience with insurance claim s and filing process.
- Experience with maintaining confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
