About the role

  • Instructional areas included, but are not limited to, functional academics, self-help skills, social skill training, communication, productivity and leisure.
  • ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide and utilize instructional plans, strategies, methods, materials and techniques that best meet the needs of individual students.
  • Provide the leadership and direction of classroom assistants working with students.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and/or experience with children with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work successfully with parents, teachers, staff, school administrators and community/advocacy groups.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record.
  • Attend required workshops and in-services.
