  • JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY OF POSITION The student will provide treatment to Veterans, particularly those who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and documents patient's screenings, psychosocial assessments, and progress and referral information.
  • Collaborates and coordinates with the caregiver, physician, clinic director, case management and all other disciplines to provide the best care to patients as needed.

  • Education Level
  • Currently a 2nd year student in a Master's degree program in social work, counseling, or equivalency of behavioral health focused program.
  • Certification/Licensure
  • Standing - 20%
  • Sitting - 80%

  • Driving - Occasional
  • Lifting - Occasional

Nice to have

  • Experience working with adults, children, couples, and families is preferred.

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations.
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations.
  • Strong consultative abilities and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Familiarity in DSM-IV/DSM-V diagnoses.
  • Familiarity in PTSD diagnosis and treatment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and reliable.
  • The student will provide treatment to Veterans, particularly those who served in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families.
