About the role

  • Welcome to the official site for employment opportunities at MICA.
  • We will also study how Chinese culture has been expressed over the millenia in a variety of art forms, focusing primarily on sculpture, painting, calligraphy, printmaking, and ceramics.
  • The course will also examine how changes in China's political system, religions, and economy impacted the visual arts.

Responsibilities

  • Part-time faculty appointment in the History of Art, Design, and Visual Culture Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art
  • Students will begin by examining the early growth of what came to be called Chinese culture by studying developments in philosophy, technology and the design of material goods (such as bronze vessels).

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Southeast Asian Art History.

Nice to have

  • PhD in Art History, visual cultural studies, or a related field
  • College level teaching experience

Compensation

  • Salary: $4,650 - $7,887 commensurate with experience and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
