Responsibilities
- This job involves performing and interpreting Ultrasonic (UT) inspections using automated inspection systems and handheld techniques to determine acceptability of composite aircraft parts throughout the manufacturing process for quality and design verification in a fast paced high rate production environment.
Requirements
- Ability to utilize measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales, and calipers
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required
- Experience and familiarity with inspection/interpretation engineering requirements of Aerospace or composite parts/materials.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.
Nice to have
- UT Level 1 Certification or UT classroom training/experience in operating basic Ultrasonic equipment in progress or completed.
- Must be able to provide formal training and experience records
- Experience in Composite Manufacturing/High Output Production
- Experience with multiple brands of flaw detectors strongly desired
- Experience working with Automated Ultrasonic Inspection Systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must be capable of conducting NDT for the acceptance of parts and document the results
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a team
Compensation
- Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
- Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
- $40,700.00 - $67,900.00
- The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
