About the role
- Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager the Test Technician 2 role involves testing and verifying the performance of power distribution equipment
- performing inspections, testing, and repairs
- Test & verify the performance/function of power distribution equipment and assemblies, using multi-meters, current meters, HI‐POT Testers, Phase Rotation Meters, and other testing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure company product specifications are being followed or to assist with other manufacturing needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment within all Test areas.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of applicable safety standards and electrical codes, including NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC.
- Ability to recognize hazardous conditions and apply safe work practices before performing testing or troubleshooting activities.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of hand tools and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of hands-on experience testing low-voltage power distribution systems
- associate degree or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.

Company info
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of hands-on experience testing low-voltage power distribution systems; associate degree or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent military training or experience in electronics, electrical systems, engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Prior experience with low-voltage switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static switches, and powered busway systems preferred; data center or other mission-critical environment experience strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of three-phase power, DC power systems, electrical power generation, and AC/DC power distribution.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting capability at the circuit board and component level.
- Competence using computers and software applications for data entry, testing documentation, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, cooperative, and organized working relationship within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and apply mathematical formulas and concepts accurately.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as business needs require.
