- Who You Are Precision Systems is seeking to hire a Construction Inspector with knowledge and experience of construction standards and practices.
Responsibilities
- Observes and documents Contractor's daily production rates
- Observes, documents and communicates with Contractor's regarding completion of all elements of project work to include identifying non-compliant work
- Reviews placement of and performs tests on construction materials
- Maintains project records
- Maintains project records; including daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records, and monthly estimates
Requirements
- The Construction Inspector is expected to have a minimum of three years of highway construction inspection experience as well as working knowledge of:
- Experience with roadway, structure, and bridge construction/maintenance/repair/rehabilitation methods, materials, standards and specifications
- Knowledge of VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications, Road and Bridge Standards, Construction Manual, Inspector Manual, and Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices
- VDOT Certifications related to asphalt, concrete, pavement, inspection or other areas required
- Knowledge of Construction plans, symbols, and terminology
- The Construction Inspector is expected to have the ability to:
- Perform and document required materials testing
- The specific certifications required for a given task will be identified by the Department at the time the task is assigned.
- Precision Systems is seeking to hire a Construction Inspector with knowledge and experience of construction standards and practices.
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience performing construction inspection within Virginia that may include work for VDOT.
- State and federal environmental, safety, and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines and regulations
- Use of the Department's contract management software
- Maintains a good driving record
- Offers flexibility in working day or night as project require
- Is able to lift at least 50 pounds

The Construction Inspector will inspect all phases of highway construction and maintenance projects under the general supervision of senior or supervisory staff, ensuring construction quality in accordance with plans and specifications and providing a quality transportation system for the traveling public.
